The Belfast-based Maine Farmland Trust and its Joseph A. Fiore Art Center invite the public to a late-summer Open Studio Day Sunday, Aug. 26, at Rolling Acres Farm, 152 Punk Point Road on Damariscotta Lake.
Studios occupied by the August artists-in-residence will be open from noon to 3 p.m. There will be music on the lawn, performed by Sara Trunzo; and free coffee, tea and ice cream. The resident gardener will offer hourly garden tours.
After Open Studio Day, MFT will host Agrarian Acts, a celebration of agriculture through music, from 4 to 7 p.m. The mini music fest features Sibylline, Sugarbush, and Sara Trunzo, three all-female bands with deep roots in rural Maine. Gates open 3:30 p.m. Tickets, which include farm pizza and salad, are $35; $15 for youth age 6 to 15 and free for younger children. They can be purchased online at 207tix.com/events/agrarian-acts.
Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide, member-powered nonprofit working to protect farmland, support farmers and advance farming. For more information, visit mainefarmlandtrust.org.
