Slight showers could not dampen the spirits of the people of Warren as they celebrated their town June 23 at the annual Warren Day festival.

The parade included lines of fire trucks, Boy and Girl Scouts, Kora Karts, and  more, all of whom made their way down Main Street to the village center. Candy was thrown by those walking in the parade and riding on floats to onlooking children, and even some of the adults.

Following the parade was the sports awards ceremony where enthusiastic coaches gave out medals to Little League participants. Smiles were seen on the faces of players and parents alike.

Midcoast Gymnastics of Waldoboro had out a tumbling mat, where the young girls who did gymnastics there demonstrated their routines for the event-goers.

There were fair food tents, ice cream tents, and the chicken barbecue.

Musical entertainment was provided by Walk the Line, a Johnny Cash cover band, and nonmusical entertainment was provided by a bounce house, face painting/ crafts tent, and a kids' play area.

Smokey the Bear made an appearance on a fire truck, and afterwards walked around greeting both children and parents.
