Horch Roofing owner Peter Horch created the Reroof and Recycle program eight years ago because he wanted to do something about the two tons of roofing waste that was produced by each roofing job his company completed. Since April 1, 2010, 100 percent of the company’s roof waste is recycled and turned into an aggregate used in the company’s driveways and parking lots.

Horch Roofing’s June 4 announcement of the recycling milestone coincided with National Roofing Week, June 3 to 9. Each summer the National Roofing Contractors Association organizes this week to raise awareness across the U.S. about the significance of roofs to every home and business and to encourage the public to hire professional roofing contractors.
