Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops held a small ceremony around the town monuments to honor memorial day. Michael Reed of Calvary Baptist Church was a speaker at the event.

The scouts who attended marched through Warren village to end on the bridge that overlooks the St. George River. Dawn Swindler-Bailey handed out carnations to the various boys and girls to honor those who have given their lives by throwing the flowers into the river.

The ceremony included wreaths being laid on the monuments within the town square, as well as Boy Scout Troop 254 of Warren raising the flag to half-staff. "Taps" was played on the trumpet by José L. Cordero, III as the flag was raised. The event was attended by seven various branches of the scouts.
