Police Chief Tim Hoppe confirmed Feb. 16 the absence of two officers from his force.

Hoppe said Officer Chris Hast resigned effective Jan. 29 and Officer Tom Hoepner is on paid administrative leave.

He said he could not provide any other details because these are personnel matters.

Hoepner was recognized as a new officer in August 2017. He previously worked for the Waldoboro Police Department in 2013, and as a school resource officer for RSU 40.

Other officers on the Thomaston Police Department are Sgt. Olaf Sigaud, Officers Jacob Labo and Jacob Grinnell, and reserve officers Tom Eager and Noah Stevens.
