A woman jogging on Camden Street (Route 1) was seriously injured Friday morning, Feb. 9, and police are investigating whether she was struck by a passing vehicle.

The incident occurred near Pizza Hut shortly before 10:30 a.m. The woman's injuries were serious, but not life-threatening. She was taken by ambulance to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

A vehicle was stopped a few minutes later by Rockport police near Pascal Avenue in Rockport.

Traffic was briefly rerouted around the crash site, but was the road was reopened by 10:45 a.m.

Rockland Police Sgt. Kenneth Smith said Tuesday, Feb. 13 that the investigation was continuing and more information could be released at the end of the week.
