Camden Hills Regional High School and other schools within the Camden-Rockport district were closed Wednesday, Feb. 7, due to a threat.

Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne said a school administrator received an email that was opened at 6:38 a.m. The email made a date-specific threat to the district, the chief said.

As a precaution, schools in the district were closed.

He said a detective is trying to trace the origin of the email.

Notices were sent to parents about the closure.

Schools had earlier been scheduled to release students early Wednesday, because of the pending snowstorm.

More details are expected to be released later in the day.
