Arthur “Bubby” Carter, 73, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at a nursing facility where he had been admitted for hospice care.

Born Feb. 21, 1944, he was a lifelong resident of the Tenants Harbor, St. George, Rockland area. He was the son of Arthur Anderson and Edna Phyllis Carter. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings and mother. He was loved and known by all in the community.

You could find him doing his favorite things; fishing with his brother Alan, coffee with the ‘liars club’ at Maritime Farms, and Friday cribbage nights at the Polky house. Sundays were spent playing cribbage with his daughter, Bethany, often supervised by his youngest grandson, Cole.  Always a hard worker, his favorite job was for RSU 13 as a custodian, where he befriended many students and staff throughout the years.

A celebration of life is planned at a later date, and his family will scatter his remains in the spring at his favorite place, Tenants Harbor.

The family wishes to thank Alan Craney, Kenny Elwell, the Polky family, and Alan and Barbara Carter for all their love and support through this difficult time. You are all in our hearts and we can’t thank you enough for your help whenever we needed it or a shoulder to cry on.

Arrangements are with Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.
