The Knox Museum Board of Trustees voted Jan. 18 “to keep the doors open,"  according to a press release.

"Thank you to all of the individuals who gave donations and pledges to make this possible," Peter Ogden, chairman of the board, said.

Ogden said that although the goal of $150,000 was not met, the board felt that enough funds had been raised to keep operations ongoing while the museum continues to raise the approximately $50,000 still needed.

"As part of that decision, the board charged the Executive Committee with developing an immediate plan to restructure museum operations to reduce costs," Ogden said.

The Executive Committee will meet the week of Jan. 22 to begin drafting the restructuring plan.

"With the continued support of our donors and the community, we will work toward a stronger future," Ogden said.
