The Oceanside wrestlers have dealt with few numbers this season, but despite that, the Mariners have given their all on the high school mats, and it paid off on Friday, Jan. 5 with the team’s first win of the new year in a meet hosted by Cony.

Oceanside doubled up Gardiner 24-12 for win number one of 2018, but fell to Morse of Bath 42-21, Medomak Valley of Waldoboro 48-27 and Cony of Augusta 60-19.

The individual Oceanside results, with Mariners listed first, were:

106 pounds — Carter Fogarty was pinned by Evan Grady, Gar; won by major decision over Ahmad Ahmad, Cony; pinned Marshall Sawyer, Med; and won by forfeit over Morse.

132 pounds — James Dewalt won by decision over James Rinderknect, Gar; won by decision over Isaiah Dodge, Cony; was pinned by Colby Hyde, Med; and was pinned by Mason Savary, Morse.

138 pounds — Alex Fogarty won by forfeit over forfeit over Gardiner; pinned Colby Smith, Cony; pinned Damien Henry, Med; and pinned Gaige Kindlimann, Morse.

145 pounds — Wilhelmenia O’Brien was pinned by Dana Purington, Gar; was pinned by Jakob French, Cony; and won by forfeit over Medomak Valley and Morse.

152 pounds — Noah Carlson won by forfeit over Gardiner and Medomak Valley; was pinned by Jakob Arbour, Cony; and was pinned by Isaiah Cogswell, Morse.

170 pounds — Michael Yates beat Tyler Robishaw, Gar; pinned Dakota Andow, Cony; beat Tyler Cox, Med; and beat Sam Strozier, Morse.
