Eva C (Seekins) Lenfest, 95, passed away Dec. 30, 2017, at Heritage Oakes Assisted Living Facility in Englewood, Fla., of natural causes after a long and fruitful life. At the time of her passing three of her four children were at her bedside.

She was born May 27, 1922, the daughter of George A and Jessie (Tozier) Seekins of Searsport. Eva was predeceased by her husband of 51 years John E Lenfest Sr., of Swanville; her sister Elizabeth (Seekins) Howard; and five brothers: Percy, Earle, Orin, Ralph and Clyde Seekins.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and homemaker. She worked several years at Belfast shoe factory. Eva's passions were babysitting, cooking, canning, knitting, crocheting and making gifts for friends and family. Her cooking was beyond reproach! Some of her most memorable times were spent with family and grandchildren, at church, church suppers and game day. In spite of life's challenges Eva still had a very unique style of humor.

Eva is survived by her children Burton Seekins of Searsport, John Lenfest Jr. and wife Carmen, Joan (Lenfest) and husband John McBrearty and Harold Lenfest of Englewood, Fla.

Also, grandchildren: Felecia (Riccardo) DeCarli, Michelle (Brian) Bachand, Christine (Jack) Howard, Kim Lenfest, Luke (Brenda) Lenfest and four children; Marc Lenfest and four children; Rick and Lea Langley; and Mark Langley and three daughters. Great-grandchildren are Laura, Michael, Nicole and Garrett; great-great granddaughter Peyton-Rae; and many more great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Sisters-in-law Jenny Chatto, husband Warren, and Josephine Seekins. Nieces Lucille and husband Gorden Clements of Maine; Joyce and husband Richard Garland of Pennsylvania; very dear friends Maxine Seekins and Ellen Hoyt.

We want to thank all of Eva's family and friends, who sent cards of cheer and well wishes. They meant a lot to her.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the caregivers at Heritage Oakes Assisted Living facility for their care and compassion for Eva since her move from Maine in September 2017.

Arrangements are under the care of Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Englewood, Fla.

A graveside remembrance service will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
