The driver of a vehicle that rolled over on Cushing Road just before 11 a.m. Jan. 13 was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to Knox County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Tim Carroll, Kyleigh Philbrook, 18, of Cushing, was traveling north on Cushing Road in a 2013 Ford sedan when she encountered a truck in the oncoming lane that was partially in her lane because of flooding of the roadway.

Philbrook was unable to stop and, because of the flooding of water over the road, most likely hydroplaned, Carroll said. Her vehicle spun around to the left before leaving the road and rolling over onto its roof.

Philbrook reported injuries to her right ankle and hip, and was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center by Cushing EMS.

Cushing EMS and fire, along with Knox County Sheriff's personnel, were on scene.

The vehicle was destroyed, according to Carroll.
