It has been a topnotch start to the season for the Medomak Valley basketball teams — a scenario that continued on Tuesday, Dec. 19 in court contests against Morse of Bath.

The Panthers prevailed on the night as the girls netted a 60-47 win in Waldoboro and the boys a 66-52 decision in Bath.

The Medomak Valley girls are 4-0 and boys 3-1.

Girls basketball

Medomak Valley 60, Morse 47

At Waldoboro Dec. 19, the Panthers remained unbeaten on the young season, as they netted a 13-point win over the Shipbuilders. Medomak Valley led 14-10, 26-15 and 41-30 at the quarter breaks.

Gabby DePatsy pumped in 16 points to lead Medomak Valley, while Lydia Simmons added 12; Maddy White, eight; Hallie Kunesh and Sadie Cohen, seven; Abby Lash and Kayla Donlin, four; and Aubrey Schaeffer, two.

DePatsy also added 12 rebounds and four steals, while Simmons grabbed nine caroms.

Sierra Wallace and Marija Medenica scored 15 points for Morse, while Emma Gould added six; Marissa Parks and Dory Kulis, five; and Julia Goddard, one.

The Panthers were 16-of-24 (67 percent) from the free-throw line, while the Shipbuilders were 3-of-10 (30 percent).

Boys basketball

Medomak Valley 66, Morse 52

At Bath Dec. 19, the Panthers prowled to a 14-point win over the Shipbuilders.

Gabe Allaire tossed in 23 points to pace Medomak Valley, while Josh Goldrup added 20; Chris Bowman, six; Ryan Creamer and Chris Bowman, five; Alec Coughlin, four; and Jordan Powell, three.

Goldrup secured 10 rebounds and Allaire nine, while Creamer dished out five assists.

Parker Onorato and Thomas Warren scored 19 points for Morse, while Josh Doughty added eight; Dominic Green, four; and Kaleb Jackson, two.

Medomak Valley converted 11 free throws and Morse nine.
