Trophies and ribbons were on the line as 28 children braved the snow on Saturday, Dec. 9 to compete in a junior tennis tournament at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

The Midcoast Junior Compass Tournament featured area children, as well as youngsters from Damariscotta and Boothbay.

All the participants played multiple matches in a round-robin format.

There were several different events in the tournament: Orange Ball, Green Ball and Yellow Ball.
