It proved a rousing start to the season for the Medomak Valley wrestling squad as the Panthers, who have a large group of mat athletes this winter, swept to three dual-match wins on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The Panthers earned a trio of comfortable wins — 48-36 over Belfast, 46-21 over Ellsworth and 54-24 over Oceanside.

The individual Medomak Valley results, with Panthers listed first, were:

106 pounds — Josh MacDougal won by forfeit over Belfast; was pinned by Carter Fogarty, Ocean, at 3:16; and was pinned by Landon St. Peter, Ells, at 2:45.

113 pounds — Gavin Readinger was pinned by Tim Smith, Bel, at 1:51; won by forfeit over Oceanside; and pinned Matt Reid, Ells, at 0:42.

126 pounds — Riley Micklich pinned Audrey Ward, Ells, at 3:11.

126 pounds — Colby Hyde pinned Patrick Hanley, Bel, at 0:53; and won by forfeit over Oceanside.

132 pounds —  Riley Micklich pinned Ryan Peavey, Bel, at 1:16; and pinned James Dewalt, Ocean, at 1:18.

132 pounds — Colby Hyde pinned Everett Huckins, Ells, at 1:12; and was pinned by Oakley Dugans, Bangor Christian (independent), at 0:37.

138 pounds — Damien Henry was pinned by Chase Curry, Bel, at 0:12; pinned Nathan Taylor, Ocean, at 4:59; and was pinned by Kyle Gillespie, Ells, at 0:29.

160 pounds — Eli Miller pinned Nathaniel Porter, Bel, at 1:42; pinned Noah Carlson, Ocean, at 0:51; and lost to Peyton Cole, Ells, 9-3.

170 pounds — Tyler Cox beat Jeremy Foskett, Ells, 10-2.

170 pounds — Jakob Gess pinned David Warren, Bel, at 2:45; and won by forfeit over Oceanside.

182 pounds — Elijah Lash won by forfeit over Belfast; was pinned by Mike Yates, Ocean, at 2:13; and pinned Chuck Hughes, Ells, at 5:04.

195 pounds — Amos Hinkley was pinned by Jason Norwood, Bel, at 1:39; and won by forfeit over Oceanside and Ellsworth.

220 pounds — Amos Hinkley beat Jacob Bowen, Bangor Christian (independent), 7-6.

220 pounds — Erik Benner pinned Brian White, Bel, at 1:18; won by forfeit over Oceanside; pinned Chris Barnes, Ells, at 1:55; and pinned Jared Smith, John Bapst of Bangor (independent), at 5:20.

285 pounds — Jake White pinned Cameron Watts, Bel, at 2:30; and won by forfeit over Oceanside and Ellsworth.
