A driver was taken to the hospital Saturday morning, Dec. 9, after crashing her car into a utility pole.

Jessica Macphee suffered injuries and was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, according to Rockland police. The fire department later reported that LifeFlight was called to fly the woman to a higher-care facility.

No information was available on her condition.

The woman had gotten out of the car on her own and was sitting when emergency crews arrived.

The car was heading south on Camden Street when it went off the road and struck the pole next to the Goodwill store, snapping the pole in half, police said.

The case remains under investigation. The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. Dec. 9.
