Frederick C. “Rick” Kopishke Jr., 68, passed away Nov. 28, 2017, at Sussman House in Rockport, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 27, 1949, in Waterbury, Conn., to Frederick C. Kopishke Sr. and Bertha (Schumski) Kopishke.

Rick grew up in Beacon Falls, Conn., and graduated from Naugatuck High School class of 1967. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 14 years (1967-1981). He left Connecticut in 1981 and moved to Washington, where he worked for his father-in-law at Overlock Agway and ran Overlock Agway for a short period of time. Lastly, he worked for Union Agway until he retired.

He was a member of the Hill and Gully Riders Snowmobile Club in Washington, where he was the trailmaster. He was always willing and ready to help people and local organizations with whatever was needed. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, gardening and family activities. He helped build his house, remodel the Overlock homestead for his son’s family and established his daughter in her home. He was a very outgoing, generous man. He was also selfless, honest, an animated storyteller and talker, and a kid at heart.

Rick was predeceased by his parents and sister Kim Kopishke.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Hazel Kopishke, of Washington; son Matthew and wife B.J. of Liberty; daughter Heidi Kopishke of Nobleoboro; grandtwins Tanner and Abigail Kopishke of Liberty; sisters Gail Dube and husband Thomas of Naugatuck, Conn., Dawn Wisniewski and husband Rick of Beacon Falls, Conn.; niece Wendy Cello and husband Brian of Meriden, Conn.; nephews Jacob Wisniewski and wife Sarah of Southbury, Conn., and Luke Wisniewski of Connecticut.

Visiting hours will be Monday, Dec. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m.
