Jazz Café reprised at Gibbs

Everyone is invited to share an evening of original music with Maine-based husband and wife duo Christopher Poulin and Juliane Gardner of New Shades of Blue. Their music ranges from jazz to reggae and features old-time jazz favorites, blues and original compositions. The Nov. 18 performance starts at 7 p.m.

The library team will be offering beverages and desserts throughout the evening. A suggested donation of $5 per person is respectfully requested to help defray costs.

Second annual Holiday Bazaar

This Saturday morning, Nov. 18, Prescott Memorial School, 100 Waldoboro Road, will present its second annual Prescott Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to noon. Featured will be holiday baked goods, photo cards, homemade blankets, student-made crafts and many other handmade items. Vendors who have displays include Thirty One Gifts, Mary Kay, LuLaRoe, Perfectly Posh, Origami Owl, Pampered Chef, Norwex, Tupperware, Paparazzi, Doterra, It Works, Scentsy and Tastefully Simple.

Prescott School is one of the pillars of our community and this event is an important fundraiser. Please stop in and support this project. There’s plenty of parking and eager volunteers to help you find something you can’t resist. See you there!

Public supper at Masons

Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge is offering a baked beans with franks and American chop suey supper this Saturday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the lodge on Liberty Road. After presenting a season of specialties, at Saturday’s supper the Masons are having a couple of old-fashioned Saturday night favorites. The homemade baked beans with hotdogs or American chop suey meals will include biscuits, dessert, coffee, tea and punch. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Book group tonight

"Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng is the novel the book group will discuss tonight (Nov. 16) at Gibbs Library. The book was released Sept. 12 and shot onto the bestseller list that week, hitting  No. 7 on the New York Times Hardcover Bestseller List, and is also on Publishers Weekly and Indie National lists, and is Amazon’s No. 8 most-sold book. The book to read next is "The God of Small Things," the debut novel of Indian writer Arundhati Roy.

Blueberry Fields resumes public schedule

Blueberry Fields B&B is again offering Sunday breakfasts through its quiet season. This is Sunday mornings only. Breakfasts will be available between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. with no reservations needed.
