Singer/songwriter/guitarists Cathy Kreger and Vicky Andres will join forces for a special night of music Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Saint George River Café, 310 Main St. in the village.

Kreger has been performing for more than 18 years, combining adult contemporary and old blues with an alternative folk flair. She has acquired a devoted fan base throughout the Northeast, especially in the thriving music scene of Connecticut, New York and Long Island.

"When I'm at a show, I like to be stretched like a rubber band, to laugh, to cry, to be entertained. That's what I try to do on stage,” she said. “If you're interested in feeling your emotions, you’ll want to be at my show."

For many years, fans of fiery rock guitar and original music have been taking in Andres’ shows, which she performs with complete abandon. Her passionate vocals can move from a vulnerable whisper to a courageous roar; and her intricate guitar work, both acoustic and electric, is driving and rhythmic. She mixes funky single-note lines with chord progressions that flow with a songwriting sensibility.
