Join Geologist Mark Brockmann at the Rockport Opera House Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m. while he discusses the various stone tools used by the Native Americans of the Northeast.

Replicas of these tools will be on display and Brockmann will be answering questions at the end of the program.

Brockmann earned a masters degree in geology from Miami University, Oxford, OH and has traveled throughout the Northeastern U.S., working as an environmental, geotechnical and educational geologist. He traveled to Maine in the early 1990s, purchased property along a glacial esker in Chesterville, and built a house in 1995. This is now the location of his library/office/lab with lithological and mineralogical collections.
