Those who like gospel music and remember The Campbells are invited to the next Summer of Praise concert Friday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m. under the tent at the top of the hill on Route 1.

Echoes of Faith is a rather new local trio, but gospel music fans are probably familiar with two of the members, Cindy Campbell Frith and her husband Bill Frith of The Campbells (founder Leo Campbell stopped full-time music ministry a few years ago due to health issues). Cindy and Bill Frith have been singing at their home church, Faith Baptist in Newcastle and, joined by their pastor’s wife, Julie O’Donnell, have formed Echoes of Faith.

This is the sixth summer that Waldoboro Word of Life Church has set up the tent to allow those who attend different churches, and those who don’t regularly attend at all, to come together to praise and worship God. The Sunday evening services for several local churches, and anyone who would like to attend, have been taking place at the tent at 6 p.m. On Aug. 6, Pastor Mark Holden of the Churches of the Nazarene in Union and North Waldoboro will share a message from God’s Word.

All events are held rain or shine; folks are welcome to stop by for as long as they are able to stay; bring a lawn chair (or cushion) if folding metal chairs are too uncomfortable. The tent is bug-screened. For more information, call 446-3288.
