Rockland resident Ron Staschak will present an illustrated talk on his 5,000-mile bicycle trip across the United States at the Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., Thursday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m. After taking the train to San Diego, Staschak began his journey across the country by bicycle Feb. 10. He traveled 5,008 miles in 60 days and bicycled through 20 states. Along the way, he replaced two tires, four brake pads, one chain, one cassette, one derailleur, one brake cable, one seat, and dealt with eight flat tires. Ron's journey ended May 4th in Binghamton, New York.
