A Bucksport man was sentenced last week to seven months in jail for leading police on a chase that reached 100 miles per hour on the back roads of Rockport and Camden.

Paul Davis, 31, received the seven months for eluding an officer. He received lesser concurrent sentences for driving to endanger, speeding more than 30 miles per hour over the limit, criminal trespass, failure to report an accident and criminal attempt.

According to police, Davis had led police on a high-speed chase March 29 after an officer responded to a report that the Bucksport man was trying to enter the Maine Coast Weddings shop at the intersection of routes 17 and 90 through a rear door after being warned by police not to return to the business. Davis struck a vehicle as he sped from the scene.

Davis was traveling 100 mph on Park Street by the intersection of Brandy Brook Circle during the chase, according to police. Davis was caught soon after by Maine State Police on Route 1 in Belfast.
