Björn Runquist will hold his annual “open studio” show Friday through Sunday, Aug. 4 through 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Ocean View Grange, 435 Port Clyde Road/Route 131. The public also is invited to a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Friday.

Runquist continues his exploration of the Midcoast, this year with a focus on wharves, boats and harbors, as well as the daily scenes of our towns and roads, through all seasons. There also will be paintings from a recent painting trip to France.

The past year has been a full one for workshops and painting, as well as exhibitions including a show at Bartlett Woods; and with the U.S. State Department. Runquist has been in the Art in Embassies program for 12 years and currently has a selection of his paintings in a U.S. ambassador’s residence, this time in Kieve. His work also can be seen at Landing Gallery in Rockland.

Runquist’s paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections including the Farnsworth Art Museum’s and he was highlighted in the “Canvas” section of Maine Home + Design. To see his work, as well as information regarding his workshops both in Maine and France, visit
