Coastal Children's Museum, 75 Mechanic St., will host a pair of events in the next week. Families can build a terrarium July 28 from 5 to 6 p.m. Participants will be provided with instruction and all the necessary materials, including (but not limited to) succulent plants, marbles, rocks, sand, soil and more. They will be set up with small action figures and other decorations, and are always welcome to bring favorite superheroes to complete the scene!

This program is intended for kids ages 5 and up as well as adults. Call to sign up for plant night and reserve a space. The cost of this event is $35 for each terrarium being made.

Then, on July 29 at 11 a.m., the museum welcomes storyteller Jan Zimmerman. During this hour-long program, Zimmerman will beguile children with campfire stories and lead them in some good old-fashioned campfire songs.

Zimmerman is an art and music teacher from Rockport, and has been telling stories and giving music classes for more than a decade. This workshop is included in the price of admission.
