Mediterranean cuisine author, speaker and radio and television commentator Nancy Harmon Jenkins will speak from the heart Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Quarry Hill, 30 Community Drive.

She’ll describe her love affair with the region’s landscape and people and tell how she acquired and developed the Tuscan olive farm where she now lives part time. She’ll also talk about the area’s unique — and uniquely healthful — approach to food.

Harmon Jenkins is the author of numerous cookbooks, including The Mediterranean Diet Cookbook; The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook; and, in 2015, Virgin Territory: Exploring the World of Olive Oil and The Four Seasons of Pasta, which she cowrote with her daughter, Sara Jenkins, chef-owner of Nina June Restaurant in Rockport.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required. To sign up, call Quarry Hill at 921-6116 or email qhinfo@penbayhealthcare.org.
