OUT Maine has received unsolicited donations from two area groups, the MidCoast UU Fellowship in Damariscotta and Camden-Rockport Middle School students.

John Adams presented Jeanne Dooley, OUT’s executive director, with a check for more than $300 from the Midcoast UU Fellowship Share the Plate program. Each month, the Unitarian Universalist organization, based in Damariscotta, uses its Share the Plate program to distribute monetary donations collected during the service offering.

OUT also received a contribution from Camden Rockport Middle School students, some of whom attended OUT’s Leadership Retreat in May. OUT Youth Engagement Coordinator Lane Sturtevant has been working with school staff to establish a Gay Straight Trans Alliance at the school. Students decided to host a Rainbow Dance in celebration of Pride Month and selected OUT Maine to receive the event proceeds. School Counselor Tanya Young presented Sturtevant with a check for $175.
