River Arts on Route 1 invites the public to attend the opening reception Friday, July 14t, from 5 to 7 p.m. for its newest exhibition, “Summertime Blues.” More than 100 works in a wide variety of media by 70 Maine artists are on display. The show will run through Aug. 11.

Juror for this show is Debra Loughlin, a working studio artist with years in academic arts administration and owner of Isaac Dyer Galleries in Gorham. Midcoast artists selected to exhibit include Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville; Leslie Woods of Montville; Joyanna Bernardo of Rockport; Sandi Cirillo of Searsport; Dianne Horton of Swanville; Janetta Jennings of Union; Marie Bickford of West Rockport; Valerie Greene, Jean Kigel and Joyce Steel of Waldoboro; Wolfgang Busse, Paula Horton and Polly McGrory of Warren; and Tania Amazeen-Jones of Washington.

River Arts holds 10 themed, open, juried exhibitions per year, with some of Maine’s most prominent art community members as jurors. More than 1,000 different Maine artists have exhibited in these shows; and more than 7,000 people visited the gallery and participated in events and workshops last year.
