After the annual festival break, the Monday Night Blues series returns July 24 with a 7 to 10 p.m. concert by Professor Louie & The Crowmatix in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $15 at the door.

One of the Hudson Valley’s most beloved acts, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix is known for jamming out timeless rock, country, blues and New Orleans-influenced originals. The Grammy-nominated ensemble comes to the Midcoast after a Midwest tour, touting the latest CD, “Crowin’ The Blues,” on its Woodstock Records label. The mix of originals, traditional tunes, heartfelt vocals and blistering guitar riffs is capped by “Blues for Buckwheat,” an instrumental send-off for Buckwheat Zydeco by the Professor, also known as The Band collaborator and many bands producer Aaron Hurwitz, and the Crowmatix’s Marie Spinoza.

Upcoming in the weekly series are a couple of double-band shows, which start at 6 p.m. and cost $20: July 31, Tweed Funk and Sean Chambers; and Aug. 7, J.P. Soars and Albert Castiglia. For more information, visit and click on the Time Out Blues link; call 596-6055 or email
