Students from Mid-Coast School of Technology received honors at the 2017 Skills USA Champtionships June 21 and 22 in Louisville, Ky.

Nicholas Johnson and Matthew Shaw received a bronze medal in 3-D Visualization and Animation. The team of Johnson and Shaw received gold medals in March at the SkillsUSA Maine state tournament, allowing them the opportunity to compete at the national level. Both students attended MCST in the design tech program.

Johnson is a 2017 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School and MCST and will be attending Mount Ida College in the fall. Shaw will be a junior at Oceanside High School and Mid-Coast School of Technology.

Kelsie Merrill received a Skill Point Certificate in community service at the champtionships.

More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education.
