The Camden Yacht Club Sunset Seminar Series will host The Rusty Hinges for an evening of sea chanteys, bluegrass and folk music Wednesday, July 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the club, 68 Bay View St.

The gathering is the second in a series of eight hosted by the Camden Yacht Club and is free of charge and open to the public. Donations at the door will be gratefully accepted to benefit the nonprofit Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program.

The five-piece band will play a wide variety of genres including oldies, love songs and more, and they are happy to play special requests. The band has extended an invitation to other salty dogs (who are expected to show up) to perform their favorites. Attendees may also hear from some familiar schooner captains and Camden’s own harbormaster.

The Rusty Hinges bandmates include John Couch of Bristol on guitar, Brian Dunn of Waldoboro on banjo and mandolin, Charles Chiarchiaro of Nobleboro on resonator guitar, John Monterisi of Nobleboro on guitar and Nancy Jones of Warren on guitar, fiddle, and pennywhistle. They play every Tuesday night at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro, as well as at other venues across the Midcoast.
