St. Paul’s Union Chapel and the School House, 1055 Dutch Neck Road/Route 32, are now a community resource for events. On Saturday, July 8, at 8 p.m., the Ale House String Band will play their distinctive “chamber folk.”

The Ale House String Band was formed as a pick-up group in 2009 at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro; and codified their style while playing traditional tunes and covers of popular folk music. Oren Robinson, Brian Dunn and meld the theory and techniques of classical music with traditional folk styles. They also have an uncanny ability to improvise music on the spot. AHSB has just released “Chasing Gold,” a full album of original music.

Cost is $12, $10 for members of St. Paul’s Chapel Society and $8 for children younger than 10. Membership enrollment may be done at the door. Concertgoers are encouraged to picnic on the lawn beforehand. St. Paul’s Chapel is located two miles down Dutch Neck Road from Route 32t. 32/Bremen Road. For more information, call 832-7535.
