Library to host Strawberry Social, conversation

THOMASTON — Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., hosts its monthly Communi-TEA June 16 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Open to all without charge, the library encourages friends and neighbors to enjoy a Strawberry Social. This is an opportunity to connect with others in the community and enjoy goodies.

Weather permitting, the event will be held in the new gazebo on the grounds of the library. Strawberry-inspired goodies are welcome. The library also encourages the donation of non-perishable fruit for the local food pantry. Parking is available. For more information, contact the library at 354-2453.

Library silent auction begins June 16

WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Public Library's annual Silent Auction begins June 17. This year, bidding will close at a new event, a combination live and silent auction immediately following the first annual Brats and Brew Tasting Event July 8.

Approximately 70 auction items will be on display at the Waldoboro Public Library and bidding will begin on Friday, June 16. Admission to the auctions July 8 is free. The library will be selling tickets to The Brats & Brew Tasting Event on Waldoboro Day, June 17, at the A.D. Gray School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. After Waldoboro Day, tickets for the event are available at the library for $20 in advance, $22 the day of the event. Program to provide information on Medicare

TENANTS HARBOR — Jackson Memorial Library, 71 Main St., hosts a lunch program on "Medicare: What You Need to Know" Wednesday, June 21, at 12:30 p.m.

Presenters will be Anne Smith, a Maine Medicare rghts advocate; Michelle Michaud, staff assistant to U.S. Sen. Susan Collins; and Gloria Rhode, statewide coordinator of legal services for the elderly. They will speak on Medicare-covered services and treatment, Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, reviewing your Medicare supplemental insurance, and abuse and fraud.
