The Camden Hills Regional High School Visual and Performing Arts Department has chosen senior Quinn Kelly as the June VPA Student of the Month. She has been a mainstay of the CHRHS theater and band programs throughout her high school career.

Kelly has been a four-year member of the CHRHS Band. An exceptionally strong music reader, she has shown steady improvement in her skills over the years.

Since her freshman year, Kelly has also been actively involved in the theater program, getting her start as a student in Tech Theater class and working behind the scenes on "Shrek." Throughout her four years, she helped out on every production whenever and wherever needed. She has worked on set design, props, scene painting, construction, running crew, and stage management. She is a natural leader who leads by example. She is knowledgeable, methodical, patient, and a good listener.

One of the most challenging jobs in a theatrical production is that of assembling, organizing, and keeping track of props. Starting freshman year with her first show, Kelly took on this job and could always be counted on to have the right prop in the right place at the right time. Over the years, she spent countless hours working on various other aspects of production beginning with one of her more challenging creations, Humpty Dumpty’s egg costume! She eventually moved on to props, stage management, and most recently she was scenic designer for the spring play Pygmalion.

Kelly has always been able to be counted on to get the job done and she managed to have fun doing it! The other students respect and admire her, but her modesty is endearing! Her advice to underclassmen: "Don’t worry too much about being the best at something, just do things you enjoy doing!"
