Students in the 13-week College Next program successfully completed their preparation for college and are enrolled in summer and fall classes at University College at Rockland. In addition to refreshing math and English skills, students earned three college credits for the COL 100-Intro to College Experience section of this course. The course helps adult learners feel prepared.

College Next is funded through Knox County College Transitions, a collaborative effort of Adult Education programs at RSU13, Five Town CSD, Mid-Coast School of Technology and Vinalhaven. The classes are held on campus at URock, offering a modern computer lab and college experience. During the program, students complete such college activities as applying for financial aid, filling out paperwork for scholarships, refreshing study skills, and learning computer skills needed for college.

Registration is now open for the fall 2017 College Next program, which begins Sept. 13. The course is open to adult learners with a high school credential and a desire to enter college. The program is supported by a grant from the Maine Department of Education, and instruction is offered free of cost. For more information or to register, call 691-5751 or email
