Waldoboro Public Library’s Artist of the Month for June and July is Tania Amazeen-Jones of Washington.

Raised on an island off the coast of Maine and New Hampshire, Amazeen-Jones spent many hours in her father’s boatyard and on boats, which instilled in her a great appreciation for all things of the sea. The family owned a small island farm as well, giving her a love of woods, fields and wildlife.

Working in pen and ink, graphite, pastel and paintings on linen or panel, Amazeen-Jones has completed more than 1,000 works of art. A self-taught artist, Amazeen-Jones has been awarded many ribbons; and her work is in private collections across the United States and internationally.

Amazeen-Jones’s art is represented in Maine at Snowdrop Gallery in Rockland, at the Kelpie Gallery in South Thomaston, River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta and the Saltwater Artists Gallery in New Harbor. Commissions are welcome. The artist may be contacted at tania.amazeenjones@gmail.com.
