Marsh and Lane, a local multi-genre duo featuring guitarist Anthony Marsh and cellist Robin Lane, will perform Saturday, June 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rock City Café, 316 Main St.

Lane is a classically trained cellist who has branched out into funk, jazz, blues and more. Upon moving to Rockland in 2014, he began musical studies at Midcoast Music Academy and with April Reed-Cox at Woodsound Studios. He has performed solo and with many musicians throughout the Midcoast at many venues including Primo Restaurant, 25 Oak Gallery and more. Lane currently is the operations manager at Midcoast Music Academy and records and produces out of his home studio, Cosmic Chicken Studios.

Marsh began playing guitar in 2015 and has made quick progress as he studies with Gary Clancy at MCMA. He enjoys performing genres such as blues, bluegrass, jazz, reggae and percussive acoustic fingerstyle. Marsh has performed at many venues throughout the Midcoast including the Strand Theatre and Fireside Restaurant.

Marsh and Lane started working together after they met at MCMA in 2016. They are excited to be bringing some of their new ideas to Rock City. The duo will be performing new and old originals, covers and a few songs that will incorporate live looping.

Food is available until closing. For more information on these and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
