The winners of the 2017 Maine Literary Awards were revealed live at a ceremony June 1 at SPACE Gallery. Among the winners of the annual Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance honor were two books written or published on the Midcoast.

“Caught,” a story with words and pictures about the creation of Port Clyde Fresh Catch by Glen Libby and photographer Antonia Small, won the prestigious John N. Cole Award for Maine-themed Nonfiction. And local publisher Down East Books’ “Stop Here: This is the Place” by Susan Conley and Winky Lewis won the Excellence in Publishing award.
