Rock City Café, 316 Main St., will present Courtney Yasmineh Friday, June 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Chicago/NYC/Minneapolis singer/songwriter and guitarist draws from a poisoned well that runs deep with harsh reflection, brutal frankness, bittersweet inspiration, brief flights of sexual fantasy, blistering romance … and, most of all, transcendent saving graces.

Although she's been writing songs and performing for virtually her entire adult life, it is only in the past decade that Yasmineh has begun to record and release albums and EPs. Garnering more acclaim and building a bigger following with each consecutive release and tour, her latest two new releases have brought a whole new level of national radio exposure.

Sans booking agents, managers and a stretchable budget, Yasmineh has successfully booked nearly a dozen European tours, logged countless jaunts across the United States, shot many music videos and garnered local and national media attention here and abroad.

Food is available until closing. For more information on these and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123 or find it on Facebook.
