Angela Anderson of Port Clyde will lead the next Paint Night at The Art Loft, the downtown nonprofit arts center at 385 Main St., Suite 9 (lobby level of Thorndike building).

A Paint Night for painting “Pink Tulips” is set for Friday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Professional artist Anderson will teach her acrylic process with one of her original images. Snacks will be served, and participants are welcome to BYOB. The activity is suitable for age 10 to adult. Cost is $35, which includes all materials.

On Saturday, June 10, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., Nanfei Wang will instruct a workshop in Chinese Traditional Painting, focusing on irises and peonies. Using brushes, ink and delicate colors, students will use more color in this class and continue exploring how to better control the use of water. The activity is suitable for age 12 to adult. Cost is $35, which includes all materials.

On Thursday and/or Friday, June 15 and 16, Karen Olson offers a Jewelry Making – Metalwork workshop; one may attend one or both days at $35 for each class plus a $5 materials fee. Participants will learn the basics of metalwork in a workshop designed as an introduction to jewelry making. They will make their own components from raw and reclaimed materials. Skills learned will include wire forming, sawing, cutting sanding and texturing. Participants will be making their own jump rings and ear wires; and create works with cold connections.

This workshop is limited to five persons and is tailored to accommodate both beginners and those who already know some metalworking techniques. The activity is suitable for age 12 to adult.  No experience is necessary, but attendees are asked to bring any tools or equipment they may already have.
