Many towns throughout the Midcoast held Memorial Day ceremonies. Above, Paul Barnes, left, and Edgar Moody, right, Master and Past-Master of Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge, respectively, fold the retired flag in preparation for raising a new flag in Washington Village. Dave Martucci, far right, read the meaning of each of the 13 folds as the men worked. The Memorial Day ceremony is sponsored by the Washington Historical Society, Farrar-Ross VFW Post, and Mt. Olivet Masons. This year the focus was the 100th anniversary of the United States' entry into World War I.
