The NoRo Gallery will open for the season Friday, June 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., during the city’s First Friday Art Walk. The gallery, set in a former church at 16 Brewster St., is exhibiting the work of local artists Mark Kelly, Abbie Read, Peter Davis and Annie Bailey.

Kelly of Belfast is a mixed media artist who uses the controlled explosion of gunpowder to create images. In addition to drawing, Kelly works in assemblage and found object sculpture.

Read of Appleton is a mixed-media artist whose work explores color, texture and shape in two and three dimensions. Her latest collages are further investigations into geometric compositions.

Davis of Rockland works in photography, music, and found object sculpture. And Bailey of Tenants Harbor is a multi-media artist whose work includes painting, sculpture and time-based storytelling through animation and “crankie" scrolls.

NoRo Gallery will be open Thursdays through Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. through August. The gallery is located at the corner of Cedar and Brewster, in the former Salvation Army Church. The entrance and parking are at the rear of the building on Cedar Street.
