Art Space Gallery, 342 Main St., will be hanging a new show in its front room for the June 2nd Arts in Rockland First Friday Art Walk. Everyone is invited to stop by; enjoy wine and refreshments; and meet the artists. This reception will feature the work of Lori Davis, Teddi-Jann Covell, Keith Plummer and Judith Herman.

Davis is a professional photographer specializing in nature, wildlife and landscape images. With a background in wildlife rehabilitation, she traveled cross-country and to Alaska on multiple occasions, capturing dramatic landscapes and wildlife encounters, before finally settling in Maine.

Covell is a fine art oil painter who lives and works in Orono and paints, primarily plein air, all year, all around the state. She is represented in North Light Gallery in Millinocket, River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta and Harlow Gallery in Hallowell, as well as several artists’ co-ops.

As a self-taught metalsmith and sculptor, Plummer’s experimental evolution has led him to create a body of work that incorporates the precision of metallurgy with an inventive transformation of bone into anthropomorphic form. He uses ancient processes that result in textures, colors and a spirit not found in modern, manufactured jewelry.

Herman has been working in watercolor for more than 30 years. The exciting properties of the watercolor medium give her flexibility in creating depth and luminosity in her art. Currently, she is focused on capturing light, color and movement in her still life paintings.

Art Space Gallery is located across from the Strand Theatre. The gallery features works by 19 artists who work in various media and genres. June hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, visit
