Writing coach Kathrin Seitz and author Judi Valentine will present a free program titled Inspiration to Publication Wednesday, June 7, at 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main St./routes 173/52, Lincolnville Center.

Seitz will describe the method writing process she teaches and explain how all writers, both beginning and experienced, can use it to find their own unique, or deep, voices and create publishable works.

Valentine, who studied with Seitz, will then tell about her journey from what she called her first creative spark to the publication of “The Crystal Chain,” her new novel for young readers. Using method writing, she said, helped her to build confidence and accelerate the journey, leaving her with a finished product.

Seitz is a writer, editor, producer and professional coach who spent 30 years as a creative executive in Los Angeles and New York City. She now works with private clients around the country; and conducts frequent method writing workshops in the Midcoast. She has a master of fine arts degree from Spalding University and is working on a novel.

Valentine has been writing youth fiction, memoir and crime tales for several years. “The Crystal Chain” is her first published novel for young readers. Some of her pieces have been published locally on PenBay Pilot. She is a practicing clinical nutritionist and in 2003 co-authored a book on nutrition and healthy eating.
