Rockland Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County general Hospital’s Journey to Health programming offers a three-session course in the art of altered books. The classes will meet Mondays, June 5 through 19, from 5:15 to 7 p.m. at Rockland Congregational Church, 180 Limerock St.

Altering books is about taking an old book and making it into something new. There is no right or wrong; the pages are there to re-create and, using a wide range of art materials, one can create something amazing. Lisa Cohn will guide participants as they cut, paint, glue, fold, draw, add and subtract. Having fun and freeing the creative self is what this class is all about.

Registration fee is $50 and space is limited, so pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, call 921-3950 or visit journeytohealth.coursestorm.com.
