“Deconstructing the Beatles’ White Album,” a filmed multi-media presentation about the creation of The Beatles’ best-selling album “The Beatles” (commonly referred to as the White Album), will be screened Sunday, May 28, at 5:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, May 30, at 1 p.m. at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St.

Released in 1968, the White Album’s 30 songs span almost every style of music — from hard rock to country to chamber music to avant-garde. Its recording took place during a remarkable year in Beatles history that included the death of Brian Epstein, the creation of Apple Corps and a trip to India to study meditation.

In this multimedia presentation, Scott Freiman transports his audience into Abbey Road Studio for a look at the revolutionary techniques used during the production of “Revolution,” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Blackbird” and other songs from the White Album. It will be an educational journey into the creative process of The Beatles performances and recording sessions, allowing the audience to see and hear the evolution of these groundbreaking songs and their lasting influence on popular music.

Freiman may be the only person to have sold out Carnegie Hall … and been a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year. He also is an internationally recognized expert and lecturer on the music of the Beatles.

Freiman has presented his lectures to sold-out audiences at theaters nationwide and has spoken about the Beatles at colleges, universities and corporations such as Pixar, Google, and Facebook. In 2012, he taught a semester course on The Beatles In The Studio at Yale University.

Freiman’s insights into the music of the Beatles can be found in the book “All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Beatles Release” published in 2013 by Black Dog and Leventhal. Freiman also writes about music and "deconstructs" songs and bands for Culture Sonar (culturesonar.com).

The show runs 90 minutes. Strand tickets are $8.50, $7.50 for those younger than 12 and senior citizens, as well as for matinees and on Mondays. For more information, visit rocklandstrand.com; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email info@rocklandstrand.com.
