Friday, May 12, is full of options at the Art Loft, the downtown nonprofit arts center at 385 Main St., Suite 9 (lobby level of Thorndike building).

Instructor and Art Loft co-founder Paula Apro will offer DSLR Camera Settings 101 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Apro, a professional photographer, will help participants make sense of the many different camera settings available to them. This workshop will teach how to use choose ISO, F-stop and shutter speed settings. Attendees will learn about the different focusing options available, when to use their presets and how to overcome shooting obstacles.

Cost is $40. Students should bring along their cameras and manuals, since every camera is a little different.

From 6 to 8 p.m., Kim Nicoll will lead a Paint Night resulting in a take-home Modern Bouquet. No experience is needed for this fun night of painting and socializing. Snacks will be served; participants are welcome to BYOB. Cost is $35.

To sign up for either of these options, visit artloftrockland.org or call 200-7915. For discounts and coupons, sign up for The Art Loft’s newsletter or follow it on social media.
