Steel House South will hold is grand opening at 639 Main St. Saturday, May 13. Everyone is invited to a public reception from 1 to 3 p.m.

Steel House, just a bit north at 711 Main St., was established in 2014 as a shared co-working space, design studio and new product incubator. It has a full prototyping shop and printmaking studio; and its members teach youth and adult courses in art, design and technology.

The growth of Steel House’s studio and offerings led to a second building, Steel House South, which shares a waterfront campus with the Apprenticeshop, a school for traditional wooden boatbuilding and seamanship. This purpose-built space features oceanfront office views, conference rooms, a gallery and additional classroom and event space.
