Five-time Grammy Award-winning Christopher Cross will appear at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., Sunday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Cross is best known for his classic hits “Ride Like the Wind,” “Sailing” and the Oscar-winning "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the film starring Liza Minelli and Dudley Moore. Cross made history with his 1980 self-titled debut album, which won five Grammy Awards including — for the first time ever — the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year, for the single “Sailing”; Album of the Year; Song of the Year, also for “Sailing”; and Best New Artist.

Cross continues his recording and performing career with a new album, “Secret Ladder,” that evokes the artistry of such great singer/songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman while addressing contemporary concerns head-on.

General admission tickets are $60. The Strand lobby and balcony bars are open for all concerts for those age 21 and older. To buy tickets, or for more information, visit; call 594-0070, ext. 3; or email
