Rockport-based artist, writer and elder caregiver Maureen Egan will share her work and new book, “The Light From Here: A Breast Cancer Story,” Saturday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m. at the downtown Camden Public Library.

Egan is fascinated by how humans adapt, regroup and grow in adversity — and especially in how creativity and openness influence the process. Her recently-completed four-year book project, which includes her art, chronicles her passage through anxiety, a breast cancer diagnosis and healing.

Egan will describe her artistic journey, including the steps in making the book, and read the opening pages of her story. The afternoon will include a book signing and sale of notecards of her art.
